Robotics

Viper Nation Education Foundation supports FIRST® LEGO® League, a robotics program for the elementary, middle and high school levels. Boasting FLL and FTC teams that consistently advance to World Championships, many Viper Nation teams are FIRST award winners and finalists. In 2017, Vandegrift High School announced their rookie FRC team and hosted 24 teams from as far away as Mississippi, for the 7th Annual Texas Robotic Roundup.

VNEF Robotics Grant: Viper Nation Education Foundation sponsors an annual grant cycle in the fall for FIRST® LEGO® League robotics clubs within the 8 Viper Nation schools. All Viper Nation robotics team mentors are encouraged to apply for this grant:

2017-2018 Robotics Grant Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

VNEF annual FLL Scrimmage: Additionally, Viper Nation Education Foundation sponsors a scrimmage for all Viper Nation FLL teams. This year’s fall 2017 FLL scrimmage will occur on Saturday morning, November 11th. For more information and to enroll your team in this year’s scrimmage, please send an email to CJohnson@ViperNationEF.org.

Adult Volunteers: Student interest is growing and not all schools have adult volunteers. Technical experience is not required; only the willingness to lead a group of eager students. If you are interested in mentoring a team, please contact Courtney Johnson at CJohnson@ViperNationEF.org, or contact your school’s principal.

VNEF wishes to thank all of the adult parent and teacher mentors and coaches who facilitate school meeting space and generously provide their leadership. Viper Nation robotics would not happen without you!

For more information and to contribute your volunteer time or a financial gift to support this free event, please contact VNEF Executive Director Courtney Johnson at: CJohnson@ViperNationEF.org.
